"no other persona better signifies
the lost idealism of the 1960s than that of Dennis Hopper."
the lost idealism of the 1960s than that of Dennis Hopper."
It's that time of the month again dear reader when we remember those Unwell heroes who've passed away in the last month.
Oh and take the piss out of that bloke from Jesus Vs. The Messiah obviously.
First up (or down, it depends how she died really) was the sexy Swedish singer, actress and variety show star Brita Kerstin Gunvor Borg, best known for representing Sweden in the 1959 Eurovision Song Contest and not riding a donkey onto the stage followed by (again sans donkey) the fantastic David E. Durston, the American screenwriter and film director best known for giving us the utterly trash-tastic shlocker I Drink Your Blood.
ThunderCats fans young and old gave out a sad cry of "Ho!" when news that Stephen Perry, writer of both the animated series and tie in comics was found (well bits of him) dead in a van.
Sticking with (and to in this case) the comic style art, May also saw the death of the legendary Frank Frazetta, the sexy barbarian lady obsessed fantasy and science fiction artist as well as Gabriel Bernal Vargas the Mexican cartoonist and creator of La Familia BurrĂ³n and Peter Keefe, producer of the American version of big fuck off robot anime Voltron.
From the world of quality entertainment May also saw the death of top ventriloquist and all round television entertainer Ray Alan after a stroke. His most famous puppet Lord Charles was said to be speechless after hearing the news.
Suffering a completely diff'rent stroke was pint sized 80's icon Gary Coleman, but the saddest news this month must be the deaths of Frank Booth himself, actor, filmmaker, alcoholic, professional mentalist and artist Sir Dennis of Hopper and the creator of Modesty Blaise, Peter O'Donnell.
We salute you sirs.
