Vikram's Award Winning perfomance in 'Deiva Thiru Magan'

Vikram’s scorching heat performance in ‘Pithamaghan’ won him incredible accolades that includes National award. Although the actor continued to gear up for power-packed performances in various movies, he wasn’t able to bag the honors again. But now, the actor keeps his fingers crossed that his upcoming film ‘Deiva Thiru Magan’.

The actor acclaims director Vijay’s skills as he admits that he was his complete inspiration on every shot. The entire crew except Anushka and Amala Paul were absent and that was a mere disappointment for the ‘Lenses’ as they hoped to click best shots of these glam-beauties.

Vikram unraveled a surprising element that for the first time, Anushka takes on deglamorized roles and is sure to win awards.

The audio launch of ‘Deiva Thiru Magan’ will be held on April 14 followed by film’s release in May.

Vikram as Chella Kutty Krishnan in "Deiva Thiru Magan"

It’s a question whether any other actor of his stature would come forward to do this role, that too at a time when a ‘commercial’ hit is badly needed to make fans happy. But Vikram has done it. The actor has played Krishnan, a grown up adult whose mental growth is that of a five-year-old, in his forthcoming film ‘Deiva Thiru Magan,’, directed by ‘Madrasapattinam’ fame Vijay and produced by Mogan Nadarajan.

And those who got an opportunity to watch clippings from the film are awestruck by the Cheeyan’s performance. “He is simply the best. Many coveted awards are waiting for Vikram’s performance in this film,” a source tells us. Says director Vijay, “since the actions of Vikram’s character are as pure as gold, quite like a child, we used to call him ‘Chella Kutty Krishnan’. Besides playing the lead role, he has also sung a song in Deiva Thiru Magan.”

No Maoist, No LTTE In ‘Raavanan’

Manirathnam has been far-famed for his intellectual coalesces of reality themes blended with fictional dramas and sometime mythological epics. His evergreen masterpiece 'Nayagan' was partly based on the life of Mumbai-don 'Varadaraja Mudhalayar' and 'Thalapathy' inspired from the characters of Arjunan-Karnan in 'Mahabharata'.The queue doesn't end there as 'Aayutha Ezhuthu' was based on a revolutionary student of Osmania University in Hyderabad shot to death. With his upcoming trilingual film 'Raavanan' is all set for June release, there have been sort of excitements as the tale is reported to be based on mythological epic of 'Ramayana' with a different delineation of 'Raavana'.

Recently, there were buzzes that the film is partially based on Maoist leader Kobad Ghandy. Off the late, the communal appraisals heard in the song 'Kodu Poatta' trigged up new sensationalism that Manirathnam could have touched the lines of 'Eelam Tamilians'.

But the closer sources and the film crew have strongly denied these theories as baseless rumors and 'Raavanan' is a pure fiction.

Raavanan goes international

Mani Ratnam's 'Raavanan' is going to be first really global Tamil film in history. The film has raised a lot of expectations even in international markets. The film which was made in a budget of Rs. 120 crores is reportedly has sold for Rs. 350 crores. International distribution giants Sony Pictures and Reliance Big Picture have bought the world rights of 'Raavanan'.

According to some trade pundits 'Raavanan' will earn around Rs. 550 crores given the internationally popular stars and technicians in the credit. Mani Ratnam, Aishwarya Rai, A R Rahman and Resul Pookutty are international names that will generate interest from global audience.

Boosting the prospects are the exhibitors of Indian films in Europe and America who have offered unconditional co-operation to make 'Raavanan' the biggest ever Indian film in the world.

Storming Performance Of 'Raavanan'

Possibly, this was an occasion that had never happened before. For the first time, one could witness a disciplined and neatly arranged press meet. Of course, Manirathnam – The Management Guru lays his outmost ethics to perfection.

Entertainingly bestThe screening of visuals and music from the film 'Raavanan' were screened for the special invitees and media channels at Venkata Subba Rao Concert Hall in Lady Andal School. Of course, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's absence had disappointed the gathering. Nonetheless, the stupendous show by Vikram and A.R. Rahman pulled away the applause of special invitees.A.R. Rahman's additional songJust as Rahman had offered an additional song to his previous album 'Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya', even this one has a bit theme song. A.R. Rahman himself has crooned it and gave a live performance on it last evening.

Actor Karthik as Master of CeremoniesThe cute looking actor Karthik surprised everyone by wearing the hat of hosting the show. Well, playback singer Karthik's unplugged performance of 'Usure Pogudhu' was yet another highlighting factor.Manirathnam to speak with action rather than wordsIt's noteworthy that the filmmaker doesn't speak a lot and so was in this event.

He remained silent and yet a cynosure of all eyes. Prithviraj, Priyamani and other actors were also present as they shared their experience in working for this film.Vikram's powerful danceActor Vikram performed the dance of 'Kodu Poatta' along with the crew, thereby filling the concert hall with loads of claps and whistles.

Raavan Exclusive Trailer

Mani Ratnam has reportedly shot a film that is a modern day version and a loose adaptation of the great Indian epic Ramayana which tells the story of Rama, whose wife Sita is abducted by the demon (Rākshasa) king of Lanka, Ravana. It is said that Raavan will have a new twist on the Ramayana. Mani Ratnam had earlier directed Thalapathi, which bore close resemblance to the Mahabharata.(wiki)
