Golden Girls

It has been a few weeks since the closing ceremonies of the Vancouver olympics and by now the athletes have had some time to decompress after all the pressure and demands of the olympic games. What a grueling schedule these athletes keep both leading up to, and during the games. They must be exhausted and in need of some much deserved pampering.

Two of the standout American athletes from the 2010 games were Alpine skiers Lindsey Vonn and Julia Mancuso. I don't know about you but I was glued to the television watching them compete against each other, and the rest of the world, going for gold under difficult conditions, dealing with weather delays and injury. Both women brought home multiple medals making them household names and media darlings. I have the utmost respect for them, and for that matter all olympic athletes, who have to wait four years for their next moment to shine. Unlike professional atheletes, and the few olympians fortunate enough to score endorsement deals, these athletes don't make a dime off their hard work and success. Olympic athletes are in it for the love of their sport and this is quite obvious by the dedicated look in their eyes as they race down the slopes, the luge, or around the rink. A gold medal is worth a million dollars to these folks and in my opinion they deserve free Botox for life!

If you look at both Lindsey and Julia, they are beautiful young women (both the tender age of 25) but already have some crow's feet around their eyes. This is not surprising being that they spend their days outside in cold, windy conditions racing down mountains. This will take its toll on skin of any age! If they could find the time in their busy schedules I think they would both look great with some Botox around their eyes and maybe a chemical peel to freshen up their skin and give them an all around glow. Then they would match the shiny medals around their neck perfectly. Congratulations ladies!! See you in 2014...
